Today, as the husband-and-wife duo behind Ventura Dive & Sport and Raptor Dive Charters, they share not only a passion for the ocean but also a lifelong partnership built on adventure, trust, and a deep love for each other and their growing family.
From Dive Buddies to Life Partners
Zach and Kaitlyn’s journey together began in 2016 at Ventura Dive & Sport in Ventura Harbor Village. Zach was working as a Divemaster and shop staff when Kaitlyn walked in to begin her own Divemaster internship. There was an instant connection, strengthened by countless hours spent diving, training, and exploring the depths of the Pacific. As their friendship deepened, so did their feelings. Eventually, they took a leap—not just into the ocean but into love. One date turned into forever, and in 2019, they tied the knot.
Building a Business and a Life Together
Today, Zach and Kaitlyn are the proud owners of Ventura Dive & Sport and Raptor Dive Charters, home to Ventura Harbor’s newest and fastest dive boat, a 46-foot Newton that takes divers on unforgettable underwater adventures. With over 25 years of business experience and a team of certified instructors, they ensure that every diver—from beginners to seasoned pros—feels confident and equipped for their next dive. Whether it’s teaching in their heated on-site pool, guiding couples through gear selection, or organizing dive trips, they bring their love of the ocean into everything they do.
Their business is more than just a dive shop—it’s a place where new adventures begin, where individuals and families can learn and explore together. In just two weekends, they can take someone from never having worn dive gear to being fully certified and ready for ocean adventures.
Love on Land and Sea
As partners in life and in business, Zach and Kaitlyn share a bond that goes beyond their work. Their favorite date nights often take them back to The Ranch House in Ojai, where they exchanged vows. But their most treasured tradition? A tailgate beach picnic at sunset, where they can pause from the demands of daily life to simply enjoy the beauty of the coast—and each other.
For Zach, Kaitlyn’s greatest gift is the love and care she pours into their family, especially their children. For Kaitlyn, Zach’s ability to learn new things quickly never ceases to amaze her. Together, they dream of a future spent living on a boat, surrounded by the laughter of visiting grandkids, continuing to dive into life’s greatest adventures side by side.
