Ventura Harbor Village’s Outdoor Movies are back! Join us for the first showing on Saturday, June 24th, featuring the classic 1975 film, Jaws! Grab your blankets + low chairs and have some summer fun on the Ventura Harbor Village Main Lawn (nearest 1591 Spinnaker Dr. Ventura, CA). Our outdoor movies are FREE. Attendees are encouraged to come dressed in theme – either your best 70’s outfit or a shark! Special guest Susan Backlinie aka “Chrissie Watkins”, the iconic actress from the opening scene of Jaws, will be onsite to introduce the movie and answer a few audience questions!

Show starts just after sundown! In late June that is about 8:15pm – however please arrive early to get a spot (lawn area is first come first serve) and enjoy pre-show entertainment:

6:30pm – KRUZ 103.3 spinning tunes, kettle corn, CSULB Shark Lab, Face Painting
7:00pm – Susan Backlinie autographing (please bring cash to purchase a personalized signed print) + write down any questions you have about the movie to submit at her booth
7:45pm – Costume Contest for “Best Shark” & “Best JAWS Character or Ensemble”
8:15pm – JAWS Movie Begins

 

“Jaws” is a 1975 American thriller film directed by Steven Spielberg. It tells the story of a small coastal town terrorized by a great white shark and the efforts of a police chief, a marine biologist, and a shark hunter to stop it. Important Note – While “Jaws” is rated PG, it may not be suitable for young children due to scenes of suspense, violence, and shark attacks. Parents are advised to use their discretion and consider the sensitivity and maturity level of their children before allowing them to watch the film.

Be sure to arrive early to get a good spot and enjoy pre-show music. Ventura Harbor will be giving away Universal Studios Ticket Giveaways – sign up for your chance to win at the KRUZ 103.3 FM booth onsite! Winners will get to experience the legendary Jaws ride on the Universal Lot! Plus, enter to win a plush shark too (also available for sale at Casa de Regalos & the Island Packers Gift Shop)

There will be fresh popped kettle corn and refreshments available on the lawn. You can also grab dinner & dessert at a Ventura Harbor Village eatery before the movie (or take it to go and picnic). A variety of food, drinks, and sweets are conveniently just a short walk away from the movie. CLICK HERE for dining options. Please note – alcohol possession and consumption is prohibited in the movie area (but we do have Deep Sea Winery conveniently located right next door).

There are a variety of activities before and after the movie! Book an Island Packers Summer Harbor Cruise for one hour on the water on June 24th from 6 to 7 pm to make it a great date night! You’ll cruise the marina and they’ll bring you back to shore just in time to grab a bite to eat before the movie. After the show, end with a cocktail or small dish and check out the new After Dark Reverse Happy Hour and dance club vibe at The Greek Mediterranean Steak & Seafood open until 1:30 AM every Saturday!
