DESCRIPTION:Attention all doggie owners & canine lovers! \nCome check out the HOWL-O-WEEN Dog Costume Contest at Ventura Harbor Village on Saturday\, October 24th at noon! Space is limited to the first friendly 75 dogs. However\, doggies & their owners are still encouraged to show up and attend as spectators regardless – there are always a variety of pups in the audience on this fun-filled day! \nEvery single registered participant gets a small goodie bag of pup prizes. Plus\, five lucky dogs will take home grand prizes if they win their category! There will be a professional photographer onsite! Please see details below: \nSIGN UP\nOnline registration is not yet open\, please check back one week before the event for a link. There will be a limited number of day-of sign ups will open up on a first come first serve basis starting at 11:30am at the check-in booth on the main lawn the morning of the event! Costumed canines and their owners are encouraged to come down as spectators & show off\, whether you compete or not! \nIMPORTANT TIMES:\n11:30pm: Registered participants check in starting at 11:30am on the MAIN LAWN in Ventura Harbor Village to receive your competition number. \n12:00pm: Contest starts at noon! Dogs will be called up by contest number ranges. SUMMARY:Witches Paddle 2026
DESCRIPTION:Grab your broom… or better yet\, your paddleboard. The 8th Annual Ventura Harbor Witches Paddle returns Friday\, October 30\, bringing a flotilla of witches\, warlocks and Halloween spirit to the harbor. \nDon your best witchy attire and join the group paddle through Ventura Harbor beginning at 4:00 PM. Bring your own paddleboard or kayak\, or rent one from Ventura Boat Rentals. Spectators are welcome too\, with plenty of prime viewing spots along the Ventura Harbor Village promenade. \nStarted by locals Christie Moorehouse and Susan Stuart\, the Witches Paddle has grown into a beloved Ventura Harbor Halloween tradition\, drawing dozens of costumed paddlers and plenty of onlookers. \nRSVP Required to Participate\nAll Witches Paddle participants must RSVP in advance.\n \n\nPaddle Details\nFriday\, October 30\, 2026\n3:30 PM: Group Photo near the Ventura Harbor sign\n4:00 PM: Witches Paddle Begins\nPaddle Time: Approximately 1 to 1.5 hours \nDon’t miss the group photo! All participating witches and warlocks should gather at 3:30 PM on the promenade near the Ventura Harbor sign before taking to the water at 4:00 PM. \nNeed a Rental?\nVentura Boat Rentals offers paddleboard and kayak rentals\, but availability is limited\, so early arrival is strongly encouraged. \nIf paddleboards are booked\, kayaks are another great option for the paddle. Pedal boats and electric boats are also a blast for friends and family who want to get out on the water and take in the witchy scene. \nThose bringing their own equipment may launch from several locations around the Harbor\, including “C” Dock in the Village courtesy area\, Harbor Cove Beach or the public launch ramp. \nSafety on the Water\nSafety comes first. All participants must wear a life vest\, paddle with a buddy and participate at their own risk. Please choose a vessel and route appropriate for your experience level and be mindful of other boat traffic throughout Ventura Harbor. \nCostumes on Land. Witches on the Water.\nNew this year\, Seaside Trick-or-Treat at Ventura Harbor Village takes place at the same time\, bringing costumed kids and families throughout the Village while witches make their way across the water. \nAnd there are whispers of a Witches Market possibly brewing on the Main Lawn… \nCheck back for more Halloween happenings as October 30 approaches. \nAfter the paddle\, keep the fun going with dinner\, drinks and waterfront dining throughout Ventura Harbor Village.
